THE REVIEW

How does In the red almost never miss a beat?

The new exceptional band presented by the label is the very young Cheap Time, who offer a mix of the best '70s sounds: scrappy rock'n'roll, noisy and adolescent (in the best sense of the term!) mixed with some good powerpop melody between Red Kross and the Runaways, '77 punk rock à la Buzzcocks, a splash of art punk and glam in the Sparks style, all supported by strong injections of raw garage and a hint of trash rock'n'roll.

To stay up to date, they somewhat remind me of Be Your Own Pet, but with a greater power pop and punk77 influence; in fact, Cheap Time was originally founded by Jeffrey Novak (who remained in the band) and Jemina Pearl and Nathan Vasquez from Be Your Own Pet.

Another success for In the red, which further expands the range of sounds offered by its bands with this group of energetic, fresh, fun, engaging rock'n'roll and a strong melodic charge, combined with the usual raw garage trash punk. In short, a great band and an unmissable album of excellent rock'n'roll!!!
