Hello everyone, and here we are with an album that is undoubtedly among the best I've ever heard in its genre... it is the first and only CD by "Poeti onirici", titled "l'aria che respiro". First of all, they are 3 guys and a girl from Calabria, immersed in a society that they often denounce, wrapped in the mafia, and the problems that, unfortunately, we are all aware of in the south of our country.
The CD is quite different from the classic Italian rap CDs, both in the beats and the lyrics: the former feature many parts played on the piano, alongside the classic "tumtumcha", and in the lyrics there is a great search for poetry in addition to the aggression of others. I will now try to list and describe the tracks, as each of them, in my opinion, has something to tell: "Straniamento", the track mostly sung by the girl (by the way, with an excellent voice), very nice musically, is about a "mental journey"; "Suspiria prufundis", one of my favorites, a hymn to the night with a beautiful chorus sung in English; "Ritorno al crepuscolo", a piece I don't mind, with a rather strange but elaborate meter, which starts very fast; the only flaw is that this is the classic "self-praise" rap by the authors; "L'aria che respiro", which gives the title to the CD, is a rather poetic and catchy piece; "La mia realtà", the first denunciation piece: they criticize not only the situation in the south but also those who are proud of it only when it suits them; "Dolce stilnovo", the song with the lyrics that reach the highest peak of poetry in the entire CD: impressive dialectic; "Momenti che non tornano", nice, with a part in French, and a fairly catchy chorus; "Liber chronicon", certainly the most aggressive track with the greatest energy of the whole CD, where it is said to "eliminate" (I suppose only musically) some "inferior"; "Non risveglio", my favorite song: it asks whether it is better to live in an eternal dream or to stay in this horrible world; "Rilassato come non mai", anthem to the "southside", or how they call the little beach where they spend time opening their minds to the most disparate thoughts; "Vedo il buio", another hymn to darkness, praising it because not seeing what is in front of you allows you to imagine anything; "Niente di importante", also with a part in French, also very aggressive, against people who have never valued the authors in life; "Portami con te", it closes with a very romantic, catchy piece, and with beautiful words.
In short, undoubtedly recommended for genre lovers, but even if you're not, rest assured that you can find many beautiful words here!!! Goodbye and talk to you soon
