P.O.D. is a nu-metal band from California (but don’t confuse them with groups like Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit). What sets them apart from other bands in the same genre is their incorporation of reggae sounds and lyrics that speak of love and peace (for them, the term christian-rock was coined, but to me, it seems like nonsense).

In 2002, they released what is their masterpiece: Satellite, which achieved great success and introduced them to many people. This album showcases the musicians' skill, who mix pure nu-metal style songs within the album (the opening trio composed of "Set It Off", "Alive", "Boom"), thrash influences in "The Messenjah", reggae rhythms ("Ridiculous", in duet with Eek-A-Mouse, and "Without Jah Nothing"), a semi-ballad complete with violin "Anything Right" and a true and proper "Thinking About Forever" with mini-instrumental pieces.

A great album that never gets tiring even after many listens.
