THE REVIEW

Something I had been waiting for a long time was the return of Planet Funk. After 3 years of silence, these guys don't come out with a new album, no, that would be too easy, but they produce a Greatest Hits. 3 Albums and a Greatest Hits. And they have indeed had Hits, just think of the dreamy "Chase the Sun," or the formidable "Inside All the People." So, after parting ways with the previous singer, they return on good terms with the resurrected Dan Black.

The video opens with a nostalgic recollection of the good old days, with Chase the Sun playing in the background. Tennis court. Some sexy ball girls flirt here and there, humming Suck your lemonade, in the sun... Two men face off in a tennis match. Initially, neither seems to have the upper hand. Then, with a magician's trick, one of them manages to win the game. Providing the backdrop to the challenge is Planet Funk's new song Lemonade.

The track, in full Non Zero Sumness style, twists and turns, borrowing flashes of psychedelia and pure ambient. The class doesn't wane, and Planet Funk offers us another great piece of excellent electronic music that you can listen to over and over again.

The first of the three unreleased tracks for the Greatest Hits, this Lemonade absolutely does not disappoint expectations, and even strengthens Planet Funk's musical credibility, confirming them as one of the best (if not the best) Italian collectives currently available.
