THE REVIEW

Is there still something that goes beyond rock and punk and embraces techno as a great and noisy sound expression?

The sound of Pitchshifter, hailing from England, encapsulates raw power in the style of Helmet, catchy riffs like Nirvana and enough aggression and anger to win over any punk-teenager. The old-classic-hardcore influence of the Dead Kennedys is especially noticeable in "As Seen On TV", while the guitar in "Stronger" seems penned by Rob Zombie; "Forget The Facts" is a song that could belong in Orgy's "Vapor Transmission," and "Hidden Agenda" features an intro akin to Korn, a verse that follows the Sex Pistols, and, as they couldn't help but be mentioned, a jungle rage taken from an ATR track.

Pitchshifter

Pitchshifter are a British industrial metal band formed in Nottingham in 1989 by brothers JS and Mark Clayden. Their early work fused Godflesh-styled drum-machine pummel with death-industrial textures on Industrial (1991), Submit (1992) and Desensitized (1993) for Earache Records. Later, they folded in techno and alternative metal on major-label era albums such as www.pitchshifter.com (1998), followed by Deviant (2000) and PSI (2002).
