The Triumph of Friendship and... of Amici!

The Piquadro is a duo that owes its popularity as a band to the 57th Italian Song Festival, the Sanremo Festival, which this year I didn’t follow much as a show. However, given my unstoppable passion for music of all genres, I couldn’t help but listen on the radio or via the internet to the musical proposals, especially those of the Young or new proposals, however one wants to call them.

So, who are these Piquadro, some uninformed debaser might claim? They are Pietro (the brunette), Piero (the blond) from the edition of Amici from (if I'm not mistaken) two years ago. Back then, they were in the singer category and were soloists, but unity is strength. So, after both having received excellent feedback, the Amici edition... Piquadro was born.

Their first single "Segreti" dates back to the summer of 2006. In October 2006, they participated in the meticulous selections of the Accademia Sanremo Lab with the song "Malinconiche sere". The piece brilliantly passed the selections, earning them the right to perform on the Ariston stage. A dream come true. In truth, in my opinion, they try a little to emulate the inimitable Zero Assoluto, but the product is not bad, quite the opposite.

"Malinconiche sere" has a melodic structure with some rap interludes, decidedly convincing and pleasant, with both voices very warm and blending very well together. A good almost debut (they have already released "Segreti" and the cover of "Strano il mio destino" by Giorgia), in short, there is potential they are young and promising.
