Pilate are a four-member Canadian rock band formed in Toronto in 1999. Members named in the reviews are Todd Clark (vocals/guitar), Chris Greenough (lead guitar), Ruby Bumrah (bass) and Bill Keeley (drums). They released the EP For All That's Given, Wasted (2001) and the album Caught by the Window (2003) before Sell Control for Life's Speed (2006).

The band changed their name to Pilot Speed for legal/commercial reasons; Sell Control for Life's Speed was to be re-released with an extra track under the name Into The West (as noted in the review).

A positive, detailed review of Pilate's 2006 album Sell Control for Life's Speed praising the band's evolution toward a stronger rock sound while noting departures from their earlier, sweeter work. The reviewer highlights Todd Clark's expressive voice and Chris Greenough's guitar work. The album is judged good but perhaps less immediately affecting than their 2003 debut.

For:Fans of emotional/alternative rock, listeners of Coldplay/Radiohead-adjacent sounds, followers of Canadian indie rock.

Pilate is a group composed of four excellent Canadian musicians: Todd Clark (singer-guitarist), Chris Greenough (lead guitar), Ruby Bumrah (bassist), Bill Keeley (drummer).
