THE REVIEW

There are many ways to make a cover... you can revolutionize the pre-existing, you can stick faithfully, you can take inspiration and then expand... but have you ever thought about translating? Even before Eugenio Finardi and "se Dio fosse uno di noi", it's Piero Scamarcio who reminds us that you can translate; in fact, in some cases, you must. To this unjustly underrated great artist we owe gems like "Messaggio nella bottiglia", "Accendimi il fuoco", and "Ti ho chiamata solo per dirti che ti amo" (The Police? The Doors? Stevie Wonder?). Performed with mastery, as only he can, with that kind of voice that many envy him. According to the undersigned, the masterpiece remains "Nato negli Stati Uniti". Here is an excerpt from the profound and metaphysically meaningful lyrics:

"I came back home,
my employer told me:
'Figghie mè, I can't do anything for you!'
At the veterans' association they told me: 'Vattìn!'
Chorus: Born in the USA"

Now tell me if these are not verses worthy of a great Poet... and how to forget the stage presence of the excellent Scamarcio, whose pure blue acetate tracksuit perfectly matches the dazzling sparkle of the gold chain worn with unique ease on the bare hairy chest... oh yes, Dolce and Gabbana would have liked our Piero. It's a pity that the toll of modern life swallowed him in its labyrinths, consigning him to history and our memories. I continue to hope that behind that face of a great actor, the immense Scamarcian heart will one day beat again... and when it happens, we who loved him in our youth will all be here to sing...

"Purple rain,
Purple raaaaaain....."

...perhaps in a magical trio with the Oesais, we will see a mash-up of "Radio Ga-Ga" and "127 Abarth" being born. Oh dear, I wish it were now!
Review for the few and I apologize... but Scamarcio is a cornerstone along with the Oesais, Gianni Ciardo, and Giginho in more modern times... those who know them can well understand...
