Surely one of Pierangelo Bertoli's best albums. “Tra Me e Me” is an album with crystal-clear arrangements, created with an excellent group of musicians.
The songs are incredibly inspired and deep, sung beautifully with that warm and deep voice typical of Pierangelo.
“Tra Me e Me”, which starts the album, is a reflection on one's conscience, “Fiato Corto” is a great rock song that tells the story of a couple always on the edge, but for this very reason, alive and with feelings of freedom.
Then follows a blues with the participation of Fabio Treves on harmonica, “Tu Sei Lontana”, again a very heartfelt and profound “interior” reflection.
A beautiful love song is “Colgo Una Stella”, an invitation to the beloved to always stay together in problems and happiness.
Deeply reflective is also “Tra Gli Alberi”. Then there's “Sogni di Rock’n’roll” (yes, the one by Ligabue), which I prefer in this version, musically more powerful, and Pierangelo's voice perfectly fits the context. He fits well into the role of the night owl.
“Borsa Nuova” plays curiously with the rhythm, which is a bossa nova, “Meglio Così” is a sad ballad about a couple that must part, while “La Tua Faccia Migliore” is perhaps one of Bertoli's most beautiful songs ever, a piece that speaks of hope for a better future, a gentle, highly singable, and catchy ballad.
Also, “Aspettando Te” is a sweet love ballad ("The sound of your footsteps is music from the sky, all of a sudden I realize how heavy the waiting is, then I hold you in my arms and look at the world in your eyes and the silent rain that kisses your hair", truly touching).
It closes with the cheerfulness of “Cantando” an album that proves to be one of the most beautiful and sunny by Pierangelo Bertoli, a songwriter we Italian music lovers too often forget we had.
