LA RECENSIONE

The first solo work of our 1947-born artist, founder of the krautrock band Between, releases this album on the Vertigo label, marking the beginning of his career focused on minimalism and aesthetics akin to Terry Riley. Very delicate harmonies with rhythms that float in the air, the instruments he mainly uses are the acoustic piano, prepared piano, organ, voice, and all the effects that can contribute to crafting these dreamy and sometimes dark moments. Naturally, the listening experience immediately projects us towards the musical conception of John Cage and Morton Feldman who knew each other in their lifetimes and even kept in touch. Atmospheres sometimes spiritual veiled by the border between East and West alongside tonal or modal moments with a cosmic breath, his moving about with a sober gait leads me to say, in my humble opinion, that he has largely stood the test of time, proving to still be a fresh work today, a little gem unfortunately hidden and forgotten but absolutely to be rediscovered.
