The latest effort from the deranged Peste Noire (introduction of the group is unnecessary, those who don't know them should go research) after the "pestilences" of the penultimate album "Ballade Cuntre Lo Anemi Francor" dated back to 2009, here come new sounds in an album that seems to be very ambitious in sound experimentation, melody sophistication, and genre contamination.

Let's take a closer look.

It begins with "Casse Peches Fractures, Et Traditions", the first track of the entire release, with a typically rock rhythm, staying within the more traditional realms of black metal, the guitars are raw and sharp to just the right degree, while the furious screaming introduces us to dangerous, peripheral territories, lands populated by grotesque characters, drunkards, insane individuals, an anthropomorphic circus on the edge of the surreal and in this context enters Famine's raging voice that excellently performs the dual role of a diabolical minstrel, in the occasionally restrained scream, and a malevolent court jester in the extremization of certain grotesque skits... but still dazed by the plucked chickens, the wicked track enters

"Chocon Carotte Et Les" characterized by decisively bolder riffs, amalgamated with techno-industrial elements that generate a truly unusual and explosive mix in its disharmony; pulsing techno beats catapult us from medieval strongholds to underground metropolitan realities, the evil scream skillfully accompanies us into rather sinister and lustful atmospheres, again well complemented by moans, slaps, whips, the most unusual and extreme sexual practices seasoned with something dirty and grotesque which, well blended, produces a great piece among the sickest ever heard so far.

In "J'avais Reve Du Nord" the fear and malice of the track are present from the beginning, here there are sounds of gun clips firing wildly, Famine's voice becomes darker and more sinister, but when you least expect it, the electric guitars give way to melancholy acoustic riffs accompanied by Audrey Sylvain's sweet female voice. Rage and disdain give way to decadence and melancholy in a blend of sounds that results in an incredibly pleasant piece despite its evident eclecticism.

Through "Sale Famine Von Vaulfoutre" where bass and guitar create a truly spectral and dark composition, we reluctantly reach the final track "Condi Hu" where the Avignon band reaches the peak level of melancholy and despair, through a genuinely decadent text, they narrate maladies, wars, and overpowering forces, insinuating within us the sensation that the worst is yet to come, a pessimism identified in the suffering of the human race and in the total human degradation resulting from the consequences of nuclear conflicts and various oppressions; what emerges from this piece is that perhaps humanity, in such a context, will never find an anchor of salvation and will live forever in pain. With this widespread pessimism, the curtain falls on this mad album.

Screaming, electronic inserts, strange melodies, grotesque atmospheres—all elements and sensations well recognizable in this eclectic release. The French lads have catapulted us into a peripheral and decadent France, sometimes a metropolitan and contemporary France lived in the squalor and decay of its dangerous suburbs, at other times they have narrated a medieval country inhabited by a myriad of shattered characters, a grotesque populace out of touch with reality, reduced to hunger, living by deceptions and expedients; in these somewhat different but at the same time grotesque contexts, the listener who at the first hearing is decidedly confused learns over the minutes to metabolize the temporal changes and the sound inputs generated by this apparent disorder that ultimately is skillfully managed and shaped at one's pleasure by the hands and voices of these four sick minds.

In conclusion, "L'Ordure à l'état Pur" turns out to be a truly sick album, rich in insights and at the edge of the imagination of a disturbed mind, an album that deserves to be listened to and reconsidered numerous times.
Chapeau.
