Engines Of Decreation is the first demo by Perfect Breed. Perfect Breed is a Melodic Death Metal band formed in 2005 in Altamura (BA). Released in 2007, the demo includes 4 tracks that capture well the band's initial compositional stage. Indeed, the influences of bands with which they paved their way, for example, In Flames, are tangible.

The demo was highly appreciated by critics, earning a rewarding review (score 8/10) in a well-known magazine in the sector (Rock Hard, July/August, page 81). Even the style of the demo was appreciated for its continuous references to transhumanism, a theme often revisited in their lyrics.

The style of the demo is melodic death metal, with very tight guitar riffs and pounding drum parts. The singer's melodic vocal line skillfully conveys breathless sensations during growls and apparent calm during acoustic interludes (Inhuman rampage is a clear example...). Yet even Disclosing the deceptions, perhaps the most appreciated song on the demo, in its initial riff transmits all the melodic strength of the band. The guitarist's rhythmic ideas, influenced by the most famous examples of heavy rhythmics, prove to be very clever. Extensive use of palm muting and alternate picking at very high speeds, alternating with acoustic interludes prove their technical ability not just in distortion.

Here is the tracklist of the demo:

  1. Slaughterhouse
  2. Void of perdition
  3. Disclosing the deceptions
  4. Inhuman rampage
