The Australian trio Pendulum released one of their most successful productions in 2005, namely the album "Hold Your Color".

After a prophetic intro of about 1 minute, one of the album's singles, "Slam", takes off—truly engaging and a guaranteed floor-filler. Next comes "Plastic World" ft. Fats & TC, a typical d'n'b song with laid-back vocals and a catchy chorus. Track number 4, particularly unique, "Fasten Your Seatbelt" in collaboration with Freestylers, is a mix between d'n'b rhythm and breakbeat cadence.

With "Through The Loop", the sound becomes much heavier than before—I'd say we are practically in jungle territory. "Sounds Of Life" ft. Jasmine Yee and "Girl In The Fire" calm the mood before the other single "Tarantula" ft. Fresh, Spyda, and Tenor Fly, which brings back the urge
to let loose with vocals that engage us till the end.
"Out Here" with its breakbeat rhythms yet d'n'b sounds stands as the "different" piece of the album but fits very well among the other songs. The title track, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful tracks, with a chorus that instantly sticks in your head while being engaging—it has been tested at various events and always works ;).

"The Terminal", "Streamline", "Another Planet", and "Still Grey" close the album with classic d'n'b rhythms, choruses, and samples perfectly placed.

Overall, "Hold Your Color" proves to be an album that, unlike other productions of this genre, doesn't tire the listener due to its wide variety of sounds and rhythms. It spans d'n'b, jungle, and breaks—something to listen to repeatedly as each time reveals something new, suitable for any type of listener.
