THE REVIEW

Almodóvar, you either like him or you don’t, a genius or a fool;

Be sure to watch one of his films: see Almodóvar and then... do whatever you want;

Cinema: has something changed in Pedro's way of making films? It seems so;

Defining the film: maybe banal, but I liked it. It instills fear and sadness directly under your skin, like a small insulin syringe;

Essential: it deals with clichéd and overrated themes, like maternal love and filial disregard;

Faughter: blames a mother who is, in fact, not guilty;

Groving among the rising tide of new films of the year, this is perhaps the least spectacular, but not the least compelling;

Have the feeling of having found a little masterpiece of popular wisdom, squaring the circle;

Innovation? for someone like Pedro, yes;

Julieta: a young woman first, then a happy mother and wife, but maybe it's just an appearance;

He, Xoan, adores his wife and daughter, but also Ava;

Marvelous marine landscapes (unfortunately without dogs and cows special guests, [n.d.a.]), well-crafted photography;

Ntorm clouds darken the sky both figuratively and literally;

Observe the mental collapse of a being who can't explain the why and how;

Proving not to identify with it: quite difficult;

Quantifying the void and despair of twelve years of total silence: Antía, the daughter, moves away from Julieta without leaving a trace;

Remove a thought: it can't happen to me;

Ssk yourself that it doesn't happen to you;

To wait for a ticket, a sign that doesn’t arrive;

Urgent for me: to write what I think, or else I risk forgetting;

Valuate the possibility of writing nothing at all;

Yes, I will do it;

Zugar: destiny will unite the women in a new tragic event, but this time from mother to mother, the same pain of loss, will Antía understand?

New Almodóvar, without twists, linear? Too strange to be true, yet...
