Paul Revere and The Raiders

Musical Group

American rock group formed by organist Paul Revere (Paul Revere Dick) in Boise, Idaho in the late 1950s. They enjoyed major national popularity in the mid-1960s with television exposure and hit singles, blending rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues and garage influences.

Became nationally visible in the mid-1960s, appeared on Dick Clark's Where The Action Is, worked with producer Terry Melcher, and had notable singles such as "Kicks" and their version of "(I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone."

Lewis Tollani's review of Midnight Ride places Paul Revere & The Raiders in their 1960s context, praising Lindsay's vocals and Revere's organ work. The album's highlights include "Kicks" and the Raiders' version of "(I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone." The review argues the band was widely popular in their peak years yet often underrepresented in rock histories.
