Ooooooo finally Macca does Macca, 8 years after the excellent Flowers In The Dirt Paul gives us (and considering the qualities mother nature blessed him with, he should do it more often!) 1 great album... fresh, lively, played with pleasure and conviction as usual and you can feel it!!!

Sometimes when I hear albums like this I think: "Macca is full of "ultra-enjoyable" songs, he has personal archives full of tracks with Beatles leftovers, the problem is he enjoys placing them in whole albums while in others nothing, surely it isn't like that but a slight doubt arises when he slips in "The Song We Were Singing", "The World Tonight", "If You Wanna", "Somedays", "Young Boy" (how long has it been since you made one like this???? EH???), "Calico Skies", "Flaming Pie" Darn, we're halfway through the album and the quality remained so high?!?!! Ok, these are enough for me to thank you while I think about it, there's a soft little song of yours in the background, not essential... a filler, but even this sounds much better than others in your utterly negligible albums... this "Little Willow" I like, well, I make it to the end without major problems and even if I realize that the quality isn't like the first 7 tracks you've made a Great Album. Dear Sir, it's pointless to do everything to skip over your EXTRAORDINARY past if then you spill it all (or almost) in one go... and you call Ringo on drums and place Jeff Lynne and Steve Miller (Not just anyone!!!!) on guitars then you even have 2 songs produced by none other than George Martin (the 5th Beatle)... then aiming and re-aiming the whole booklet of the CD I discover that: "I came off the back of The Beatles Anthology with an urge to do some new music. The Anthology was very good for me because it reminded me of The Beatles’ standards and the standards that we reached with the song..."

Well done Paul "draw" more often from your WONDERFUL past... you who can afford it...
