Not long ago, in England with some friends, a guy comes up to me with his nice iPod, puts it on, and after a bit says: "Do you know what the most beautiful song ever made is?" Perplexed, I reply: "There are many, but go ahead." And this guy tells me: "Boulevard (Blvd) Of Broken Songs." I was immediately surprised.
I knew "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams," but I had never heard of "Boulevard Of Broken Songs." The following afternoon I see him again and ask if I can listen to it. I press "Play" and here come the electric guitars of Green Day, from the famous song "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" from the album "American Idiot." All normal, a song heard over and over, but at one point: "But it's home to me and I walk alone. . . Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you. . ." What?? That's Liam Gallagher's voice, and this seems like Wonderwall! I check to make sure I haven't changed the song. . . It's the same one! As the song progresses, I get more and more intrigued, up to the end of the Boulevard chorus sung by Green Day, when Travis's voice is clearly recognizable, the drummer from Synth Rock and the successor of Scott Raynor from Blink 182. After his performance lasting about 20 seconds, here comes the splendid Wonderwall by Oasis and then Boulevard again, all the way to the pre-chorus of Wonderwall, sung by Liam Gallagher.
The song continues and you feel completely absorbed, you no longer think about anything, only: "Damn, how cool is this song??" And to top it off, here come Aerosmith with Eminem with a song, I apologize, unknown to me, but it manages to effectively conclude an absolute must-download and listen-to single, because it mixes many genres, from the pure rock of Green Day to the always angry rap of Eminem. However, I don't agree with my friend. This is NOT the most beautiful song ever heard. I consider it out of the ordinary and captivating.
I hope you will appreciate the single, absolutely not to be missed.
