A gigantic electronic cloud.
This is more or less how "Epiphanie", the new effort by Para One, a talented French group always dedicated to beat production and the like, presents itself. Undoubtedly a spatial, lunatic album, much like the personalities of its creators, who have now reached the sunset of their creative journey. "Epiphanie" indeed offers everything a good electronic album should have: broken, epileptic beats, surrounded by heavy house basses alternate with more reflective tracks, filled with acidic sounds, almost to the point of being melancholic. One is inevitably captivated by the subliminal rhythm of the album, an explosion of vibrant electricity ready to burst, when least expected, into a sea of fireworks, colors, and emotions, catapulting us into another dimension, completely at the mercy of SOUND. Also noteworthy is the only sung track, featuring TTC (old acquaintances of the group), just to highlight the endless experimentation of Hip Hop, which finds an excellent companion in electronics. I admit, in my opinion, "Epiphanie" represents one of the peaks of modern electronics, that something extra that was missing from Garnier's "Unreasonable Behaviour" or the electro labeled Infected Mushroom, going as far as to brush against the cryptic "Ultravisitor" by Squarepusher.
A journey into the improbability of sound and its charm, which all electronic music enthusiasts (or, why not, of good music) should honor with a listen.
P.S. With massive doses of LSD or a good Subwoofer, it really brings out the best.
