And here I am again.. to the misfortune of those who considered me.. even if only for a moment a fake, I gave explanations in the comments of the previous review.

Year 2006... we are faced with a very heterogeneous quintet (also known as the Lattanzi Group) of 5 great professionals coming from the Boston city area. A very fresh, lively record, with rhythmic and melodic ideas that give good hope for the new direction that Jazz music is taking in these past few years in the United States. Moments of great energy are perfectly alternated with moments of pure lyricism... with great class. Indeed, we are faced with a work of very high artistic quality, in my opinion, excellent. Entirely produced in the USA, where the band musicians live and work.

Paolo Lattanzi, percussionist - drummer and absolute leader of the group, shows all his qualities as an instrumentalist with great and refined elegance, very, very refined, all within a well-conceived repertoire. No need for many words to explain the immense value of this project; right from the first notes, one can immediately perceive the great professional value of the quintet, led by the expert Lattanzi, author and arranger of all the music present on this CD. An "excursus" in tonal music strictly of jazz origin (in the most American sense of the term), which shows that it is possible to play this genre not necessarily by emulating the greats of the past but by continuing their path. This is music to listen to very carefully.. certainly not to be put as a background at a party.. it changes moods as it progresses from one moment to the next. We find rhythms and harmonies that are very current, keeping up with the times, yet never abandoning fidelity to what is a traditional jazz imprint.

I personally was very impressed by how these 5 talented and extraordinary musicians managed to create a nearly perfect alchemy between their individual talents. They create a group sound piece by piece, listen to each other mutually, and each episode follows the previous one organically, both from phrase to phrase and from soloist to soloist. On saxophone, we have Nikolay Moiseenko, on guitars Aurelien Budynek, both of whom are "front-liners" that are nothing short of electrifying! Their melodies and individual improvisations are played with great sensitivity. As for the accompaniment, we have Pau Terol on piano, Marco Panascia on bass... both very energetic and solid for the entirety of the album. Lattanzi, the composer of these pieces, offers a unique accompaniment, and I personally feel a great "pleasure" that the drummer plays the composition rather than the generic time. He offers great security and inspiration.

If you like dark and introspective moods, a delicate ballad, or typically "finger-burning" phrases, relax and enjoy them. Recommended not only for those who love jazz.. but also for those who, like me, listen to music at 360 degrees without distinctions of genres, eras, or trends.
