"Rivers of people running and I feel lost." How many times do we feel like this, all of us, in our daily lives. Yet this sensation of blind speed that we don't know where it takes us, that we carry with us, almost no one stops to feel it inside. Paola Rossato does. Almost as if "touched" magically by a "shining" that belongs to sensitive people, she sings the aforementioned phrase in "Io e la collina", a single from her long birth, "Facile", the debut album of this singer-songwriter from Gorizia who, after years of awards (Lunezia, Siae) and songs written in solitude, from the top of her hill plays everything and its opposite. She plays folk, jazz (thanks to a beautiful bass, never predictable), pop. But above all, she plays original thanks to her lyrics, never predictable, always well-conceived and flowing within the songs. Light-years away from the various Consoli, Levante, and company, Rossato prefers to "go on the hill" to write about herself. Which magically becomes writing about all of us. Not to be missed.
