LA RECENSIONE

A Naples that is both dramatic and comedic. An original film.

The characters are incredibly quirky, like Arturo, an awkward Neapolitan scientist who has just been fired. He unexpectedly and unusually meets Gayan, a very charming former Sri Lankan cricket champion who will try to work as a caregiver for an insolent old woman. To make an impression and keep his job, he will memorize the most popular soap opera of the moment. A strong friendship will develop between the two, as their destinies intertwine between laughter and moments of panic. The real surprise of this film is the makeshift Sri Lankan shack built illegally within a neighborhood: a true paradise for viewers watching! Not so much for how it's made, but more for the very affectionate and friendly relationships of the people. Of course, the presence of the mafia is there, and a country that's falling apart with a mayor corrupted by the boss. The boss, from one scene to the next, will constantly eat a sfogliatella or pastries (the noise is irritating, but in the end, he meets the fate he deserves).

The dead are at peace; it's the living who are the real problem!
