Liverpool-based English jangle/indie pop group led by songwriter Michael Head. Released Pacific Street (1984) and From Across the Kitchen Table (1985). Members later regrouped as Shack.

Signed to Virgin (early 1980s). Pacific Street released in 1984. Michael Head was the band's principal songwriter. Trumpet contributions on Pacific Street are noted (Andy Diagram is mentioned in the review). The Head brothers later formed Shack.

The available review (Farnaby) celebrates Pacific Street as a sixties-tinged pop treasure with strong songwriting by Michael Head. The record mixes jangle guitars, trumpet flourishes and Burt Bacharach/Beach Boys influences. Though praised, commercial success was limited.

For:Listeners of 1980s British jangle/indie pop and fans of sixties-influenced melodic pop.

Listen to that untimely gem. They could have been (among) the first in that circus called britpop. Probably among the most influential.
