Pailhead was a short-lived collaboration between musicians from hardcore punk and industrial backgrounds, best known for the 1988 Trait EP which blends hardcore vocals with dark industrial production.

Pailhead featured vocals by Ian MacKaye (of Minor Threat) collaborating with members of the industrial scene; the group's best-known release is the Trait EP (1988).

DeBaser's available review praises Pailhead's Trait EP for its successful fusion of hardcore punk energy and dark industrial textures. Ian MacKaye's vocal delivery is singled out as a strong match for the material. The reviewer laments the project's short life and the EP's brief six-track length.

For:Fans of industrial, post-punk and hardcore punk; listeners of late-80s underground music.
