Some may have noticed that groups have been introduced on Debaser:
Debaser e i suoi gruppi
The groups serve primarily to manage permissions on the site. Each group can have a set of "powers" associated with it. Users who belong to the group can exercise these powers. For example, only those who belong to a group with the power to create groups can actually create new ones. In the user's profile, it is highlighted which groups a user belongs to.
Today's news: Groups can be "public," "private," or "secret." Secret groups are not visible anywhere. Messages written in private groups are only visible to the group members. Users who are not part of the groups can still send requests to the group (public or private), but only those who belong to the group can post in that group. Group administrators can add other members to the group, make other members administrators, or downgrade others to.
