What does "dated sound" mean? It seems to be a definition coined by some "music critic" to justify their hatred for any particular "sound." They'll tell you, "Oh, but the sounds in the '80s were all the same, gnè gnè, blà blà blà..." So, hard rock and heavy metal and their subsequent derivations are stuck in the late '60s and early '70s, since hard and distorted guitars were more or less born in that period? Classical music, then, is hypermega super dated? Come on, they should stop with these IDIOTIC labels... judge the track or the song on its own merits, not whether the "sound" is dated or not... in all eras and styles, there are good, bad, or mediocre songs, and they all obviously have the same sound of their respective periods. What childish nonsense from some critics!
