I watched two Marvel movies in one day, I think I lost a neuron. Especially since the first one was quite bad and the second barely modest. It has a very solid first hour, where the villain, the protagonist's situation, and the presence of the army in this story are introduced; unfortunately, in the second hour it completely falls apart with terrible pacing, poorly placed jokes, and plot holes (Tony Stark manages to obtain alternative energy from the thing in his chest based on the expo model left by his father...why? For what reason? Is there a reason that the formula is in that model?). The new characters don't help hold up a second half that stumbles: the guy from Hammer is... unbearable, he wants to come off as proud at certain points but then stupid jokes come out (the ex-wife, whoever knows, knows, I cringed and I rarely use this term to describe my emotional state towards something) and above all, the villain...doesn't exist (?); like, yes, it makes sense for him to do what he does...but he’s not a great villain, he only acts during the car racing scenes and at the end, for the rest, he’s just chilling in his workshop doing his thing, and it wouldn’t be a problem if the movie were 80 minutes long, but it lasts 120, so an hour and ten of film he spends... doing not much in the end. I don’t know, this could have been a good movie, but the second half really falters too much at certain key points. At least it’s not as excruciatingly boring as L'Hulkone.
