dsalva reads Olindo Guerrino aka Lorenzo Stecchetti
A few notes and the translation:
Olindo Guerrini, better known as Lorenzo Stecchetti (1845-1916), was one of the greatest Romagnolo poets.
A fervent Mazzinian (being from Ravenna!), he was a convinced anticlerical but expressed his thoughts in a good-natured way, to the point that even Pope Pius X seemed quite amused when, referenced thanks to the Romagnolo translation of the word decimo, namely “disum,” which besides meaning tenth also translates to foolish and silly, Olindo Guerrini spoke about him.
