Well, regarding the new and now old stuff from the 2000s, I’ve heard:
- The Drone. Nice 4/5 songs, at most one per album, but with the drums. I will never listen to a whole record again.
- Vaporwave. Perfect background music while cooking, trimming plants, gardening, and/or all those very zen activities. I’ve never listened to a whole album just for the sake of it, always in the background.
- That kind of Post-Core that some call Sludge or Post-Hardcore, like Kylesa, Baroness, etc. It’s nice; I’m just too old for the speeds they propose, but it was good stuff.
- French Trap, made by Americans or rather Canadians. Fun.
- Southern USA Trap. Crap for idiots.
- That kind of new Melodic Pop in Rhyme, like The Weekend or Frah Quintale. I don’t know; I don’t think anyone with a penis can give it a fair assessment.
- Dubstep, THE REAL ONE, from Hyperdub: probably the best movement of the last 20 years.
- Dubstep, that crap with the compressors: it’s a song, not a genre, a song.
Honestly, I can’t think of much else.
