"There are only facts," I would say: no, indeed the facts do not exist, but only interpretations. We cannot observe any "fact in itself"; perhaps it is absurd to want something like that. "Everything is subjective," you say; but this is already an interpretation, the "subject" is nothing given, it is merely something added with imagination, something glued on afterwards. Is it really necessary to place the interpreter after the interpretation? Even this is invention, hypothesis (F. Nietzsche, Frammenti postumi, in G. Vattimo, Introduzione a Nietzsche, Laterza, 1985, p. 97).
