"But do you really think that if someone doesn't vote, it's just because they couldn't care less?" I'm answering you here because I've lost you... My answer is absolutely yes. All in all, they don't need anything and they're fine with the status quo. People only vote in large numbers when they feel a serious and imminent threat. This is my belief... apart from obstacles due to force majeure. It's no coincidence that abstention becomes more important in so-called welfare countries.
