I just finished watching the film version of 'Dog Eat Dog' directed by Paul Schrader. I read Bunker's book no less than ten years ago, so it's hard for me to make a direct comparison, but the film is fantastic. Visionary and noir at the same time, in line with the director's tradition. Highly recommended.
