After two months of only Rock'n'roll, I return to serious music with Die Walküre by Wagner... and I must say that the initial impact is overwhelming... the expansive breadth and depth of the melodic line take my breath away, the orchestral blend sounds to my ears like a cathartic bath soaked in purity capable of cleansing me from the residues left by Rock... the long breaths of silence between one note and another lead to contemplation and savoring an "archaic" peace that is out of time, far removed from the clamor of today's frantic life and the pressing rhythmic sections of Rock... the breath slows down, the heart rate decreases, a spontaneous and deep sigh of relief completely frees the lungs from stagnant air, the mind clears from thoughts, a bit of serenity reappears that seems almost like the mirage of an oasis in the desert... Wagner's timeless tempos thus become the best escape from a rotten, putrid, shocking, destroyed society...
