After writing my first review on "Live At Budokan," I returned for "Live & Loud," the latest album by Ozzy that I bought. "Live & Loud" was recorded between 1991-92 during various concerts around the world. Ozzy had spread the rumor at the time that this would be the last album of his career, but as we all know, it wasn’t so.
This double CD contains all the greatest hits of his career in live version plus the song "Black Sabbath" performed by the original lineup Iommi, Butler, Ward, Osbourne, also live.
The first CD begins with a curious and exciting intro featuring parts of the most beautiful songs by Black Sabbath and Ozzy solo, starting from "Black Sabbath" up to "No More Tears". Then the concert kicks off with "Paranoid" (strangely placed at the beginning of the live) followed by songs like "I Don’t Want To Change The World" and "Desire". The latter, in my opinion, is one of the best-performed songs on the whole CD. Listening, you’ll immediately realize that Ozzy doesn’t quite sing that well and this affects the whole concert significantly. After the beautiful "Desire", we find "Mr. Crowley" and "I Don't Know", both in my opinion poorly executed by both Ozzy and Zakk Wylde. The splendid "Road To Nowhere" and "Flying High Again" follow. Then Zakk gives a bit of a show with a 4 and a half minute guitar solo, decent. Other songs continue through the concert without much excitement.
In the second CD, we find songs ranging from "Shot in The Dark", "No More Tears", to "War Pigs" (in my opinion poorly executed by Wylde) and "Crazy Train". Randy Castillo stirs things up with a drum solo, very similar to Tommy Aldridge’s in Tribute, but still beautiful and exciting. "Black Sabbath" is great as the eponymous band brings back memories of when the four were successful. It closes with "Changes", well executed. In "LIVE & LOUD" we must highlight a poor performance by Ozzy with an inadequate performance by Wylde. Kudos to Randy Castillo on drums and Mike Inez on bass. An unpleasant live-flop apart from the chosen songs. To make this concert great, we needed the Ozzy in "Tribute" and Wylde in "No More Tears."
Greetings to all!!
