Ours is an American alternative rock band formed in 1992 in New Jersey and led by singer-songwriter Jimmy Gnecco. Their major-label debut Distorted Lullabies (2001) was followed by Precious (2002) and Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy) (2008, produced by Rick Rubin), with later releases including Ballet the Boxer 1 and New Age Heroine II.

Formed in New Jersey in 1992; fronted by Jimmy Gnecco; debut major-label album Distorted Lullabies (2001) on DreamWorks; followed by Precious (2002) and Mercy (2008, produced by Rick Rubin); later albums include Ballet the Boxer 1 and New Age Heroine II.

DeBaser’s reviewers celebrate Ours as an underrated alternative rock band powered by Jimmy Gnecco’s striking, Buckley-level vocals. Distorted Lullabies is hailed as a dark rock gem; Precious is praised for its soaring falsetto drama; and Mercy (produced by Rick Rubin) refines the band’s melancholic, guitar-driven style. References include Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Muse, and U2, with standout tracks like Fallen Souls and Murder noted.
