Osho (born Chandra Mohan Jain, later known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) was an Indian spiritual teacher and author of many books compiled from his recorded talks. He taught meditation and provocative spiritual ideas and remains a widely read and controversial figure.

Born 11 December 1931; died 19 January 1990. Founded the Rajneesh movement and led ashrams/communities in India and the United States. His teachings are primarily compiled from live talks and discourses; his movement attracted controversy and legal disputes in the 1980s.

Three DeBaser reviews (all by The Punisher) praise Osho's charm, practical spirituality and provocative insights. The reviews recommend short, accessible readings drawn from his live talks. Themes: creating meaning, acceptance, meditation, and joy.

For:Readers interested in spirituality, meditation, seekers of practical mystical insights, and fans of concise, talk-based books.

Controversial character but with an irresistible charm, just approach any written work by Osho (all his books are from live conferences!) to be enchanted and bewildered by the depth and sharpness of thought of this man above any ordinary mortal being (not to say "enlightened").

A book, all in all, easy to read in a few hours and that offers a lot of never banal or predictable reflections.
