Tonight I feel particularly romantic, I could listen to my collection of ballads... but who knows why... I'm listening to this album from 1995.

For those who don't know, I am talking about the authors of "Vivo per lei", brought to worldwide success by Bocelli, but composed by O.R.O., a band that had a decent success in the 90s before disappearing into oblivion.

The album in question might interest fans of melodic rock, but why not... also those who appreciate good music in general.

As you might have guessed, the main theme is love: widely explored in ballads such as the aforementioned "Vivo per..." (this is the original title), "Per te per noi", and "Un amore in due", truly valuable and pleasant tracks. But there are also more intense episodes like "La vuoi, lo vuoi", "L'amore non è", or "La rabbia", where the involvement is total and the technical skills of the musicians and the vocal talents of the two excellent singers clearly emerge.

Setting aside the less successful episodes like "Un angelo in più", "Amicamore", and "Donne in amore", with lyrics that are all too adolescent; a beautiful instrumental track, "Amico F", stands out, where virtuosity and delightful phrasing dominate.

Also noteworthy are the production and the sound, truly excellent.

Bring O.R.O. back from the past, and you will discover (or rediscover) a decidedly classy band.
