Let's go back for a moment to the '80s, to the summer of 1988 to be precise.
With the Summer of Love, a fundamental milestone in the history of popular music was marked, and acid house was the new musical genre set to revolutionize the landscape forever. The House scene across the channel had been buzzing for some time, mixing sounds from the United States with Brian Eno and the New Order, just think of "The Orb" from "A Huge Evergrowing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Centre Of The Ultraworld".

It's no coincidence that in December 1989, Paul and Philip Hartnoll, known as Orbital, managed to have a crucial record pressed by FFRR, the very first vinyl of "Chime," one of the milestones of techno music.
Avoiding the excesses of stardom that led the first rock and roll stars to ruin, Orbital endured until 2004, the year they were about to go their separate ways, leaving us with the "Blue Album" as a testament.
The nine tracks that make up this album point out the group's return to the style that made them famous during the early '90s: repetitive rhythms intertwined with multiple layers of synthetic and sampled sounds, all on moderately long structures (around 7 minutes per piece).

Remarkable collaborations: Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance for "One Perfect Sunrise," the first single from the album, and The Sparks for "Acid Pants," but, as often happens with bands with a long history, the need to remain faithful to a consolidated style poorly marries big stylistic innovations.
Nothing new under the sun, therefore, but nothing prevents us from fully enjoying a return in grand style, with familiar sounds of course, but always and inimitably Orbital.

You are becoming gods.
There's a new master of creation, and it's you!
You've unraveled DNA,
And at the same time you're cultivating bacteria strong enough to kill every living thing.
You think you're ready for that much power?
You Lot,
You Lot!
Cheeky bastards.
You're running around science like kids with guns, creating a new world, while the world you've got is stinking,
But,
Hands up,
Hands up, anyone who thinks you've got it right.
Yeah, there's always one.
I can see you.
If you want the position of God, then take the responsibility!
