It is difficult to define the style of One Shall Stand, a band active since 2009 with two works under their belt, "Beautiful Days" (2012) and the debut album "Forever Standing" (2013). Why is it complex to define them?! Because within their new work "Taking Your Try To Fail Me Into Your Grave" we find various elements, shifting from the more extreme side of hardcore (beatdown) to something very much inclined towards metalcore, reaching lo-fi solutions that old-school fans will enjoy. Added to this are melodic vocal openings that you would never expect to encounter in such a work, giving the whole a rather strange appearance. In the nine tracks, we find a bit of everything, but fundamentally, the charm of this project lies in its extreme aggressiveness, especially evident in the sound progression and in the more aggressive vocal parts. The beatdown side, not surprisingly, is what stands out the most in their tracks, especially in the initial pair consisting of "BLK" and "TWR," which are honestly the best episodes of the entire set. The attempt to give breadth to the entire work by expanding their artistic horizons has certainly made the final result somewhat uncertain, showing us the highs and lows of a project that undoubtedly has many good ideas but still not perfectly framed. Given the destructive fervor expressed in the aforementioned tracks, we hope to soon deal with a work as hard and pure as necessary to sweep away all uncertainties!
