THE REVIEW

Among the most listened to Nu-Metal groups by Linea77, there are various similarities between the music of these two bands that travel along the same hardcore line that once belonged to "Biohazard" and "Sick Of It All". Adding a little more rap between the verses means achieving the music proposed in this CD.

Hardcore conceptually can also be relativized just to the use of the guitar in the way you play it, direct incisive with a particular distortion. In any case, it is neither easy listening nor adaptable to the masses, which with the emergence of bands like "Limp Bizkit," have overlooked small masterpieces of the genre massified under the name: cross-over; a passage towards beyond, a fusion of musical styles that once combined sound very varied. "One Minute Silence" comes from London, a city that has always been very hostile to this type of music, perhaps only recently finding a group of followers with "Test Icicles" who will recover a genre almost never heard made in the U.K.

The characteristics of the pseudo-rapper, Yap is his name, vary from verse to verse; the voice is certainly one of his weak points, not incisive, actually a bit out of tune, risking almost nullifying the growls for a rap-core sound. The instrumentals are "Remain Calm" and "Available In All Colors"; I remember the rap-core of "A Waste Of Things To Come" as a tribute to Public Enemy#1 mentioned in this way more than once. "New Dogs New Tricks" is a mix of sound akin to "RATM," "Biohazard," "Faith No More." "A more Violent Approach" and "For Want Of A Better World" are in the self-titled "SOAD" style.

BigCatRecords produced and distributed it without the help of any major label, and the honest album is noticeable right away. They will start airing on RockTV with "Holy Man" from the second "Buy Now... Saved Later," but the label was V2 with Sony distribution, the guitarist Italian, and the location no longer London but New York, transforming them into metal-hardcore punk, almost entirely abandoning the rap vein.

Summary by Bot

One Minute Silence's 'Available In All Colors' offers a challenging nu-metal and hardcore blend with rap influences. The London-based band brings a raw, direct guitar sound and diverse vocal styles. Despite some vocal weaknesses, the album stands out as a genuine underground masterpiece. The band evolved later with a different sound, moving toward metal-hardcore punk. This release remains a key example of cross-over genre innovation.
