Phil Elvrum has already left about a million billion notes ...(?!?!) but the "old" guard does not stop and continues undaunted to bombard us with notes, with a rhythm that gets into your veins, with bass that makes our flabby backsides move, and our bellies full of who knows what junk shake, making us sweat like that one time a year we go running hoping to lose those 5 kilos of overweight (by magic).

Now the Old Time Relijun have become a miraculous cancer to counteract the standardization of music. They may not be to everyone's taste, but they are vital energy (and like them, very few others) for body and mind, for rationality and madness, for alcohol and hashish, for penises and for vaginas.

Perhaps it's a coincidence but the opening tracks of all Old Time Relijun albums are fantastic, in this album the first track is titled "Mystery Language", strangely the beginning is quite clean (for their standard), then all sorts of sounds enter and a pressing rhythm of drums accompanies the masterful Arrington De Dionyso, whose skill can be easily noticed in an extravagant "Vampire Sushi" third track of the album.
Many spend time and reasoning to find similarities, to find the origins of a group that seems to have come from another planet (note "Two Crows"), a group shrouded in an aura of mystery... I want to be skeptical and think that we are looking at great artists, to call them musicians seems too reductive to me.

You will be taken aback if you do not know them yet, you will fall in love on the second listen, but you will hate them if you stop at the first.

Probably I am well accustomed to their previous works (which I find to be great masterpieces) but I do not feel at all like giving a 5 because of a certain "Fermentatio" (track number 7) which I find unbearable, by listening to the album (and I invite you to do so) you will understand why.

The Old Time Relijun are now a parallel reality to everything you classify as music and not a temporary phenomenon limited to one or two albums, on par download (can we say it?!??), listen, delete or buy (aiiiììì!!).

A heartfelt greeting to all the debeserians.
