Springtime, a period for changing wardrobe seasons, painting walls, and
reissuing substantial works from distant Denmark. Paw Grabowski, the talented artist
behind the pseudonym øjeRum, revamps the graphic design of "Naar Vi Vaagner",
released a year ago in a limited edition (55 cassettes), with a new,
stunning cover crafted by his own hands that gives the work new freshness
in the faithful conversion of the tracks to digital format.
The meticulously prepared booklet, accompanied by beautiful photos stored in individually hand-numbered envelopes (only 60 pieces),
is undeniable proof of the perfectionism Grabowski applies in packaging a flawless product all around.
Published by the intriguing, young label Shimmering Moods Records from Amsterdam, this work is an immersion
into the varied labyrinths of the most magnetic and minimalist ambient music, a nearly 44-minute apnea with a mystical aftertaste.
After the brief intro, "De Doede Deler Ansigt" makes its way, propagating a sound with a sinusoidal frequency
that hypnotizes our attention. "Haenders Flugt Over Droemme" is a stunning melancholic symphony,
as well as one of the highest peaks of the album. The obsessive "Et Uroligt Legeme", the rarefied atmospheres of "Lyset Forsvinder I Solen"
and the ancestral sounds of "Traeerne Baerer Husets Minder", create a triptych of original magnificence.
This is followed by the claustrophobic loop of "Det Er Stadig Nat" and the ethereal "Lad Intethedstraeerne Blomstre",
whose atmospheres strongly recall the Cocteau Twins of "Victorialand". "Mellem Vandringer Og Intet"
muffled, like a whisper emerging from the depths of the sea, precedes the final ten minutes of "Naar Vi Vaagner",
an intermittent orgy of sounds, an acoustic feast that alone is worth the entire work.
Spring is a time of awakenings, after a long hibernation, the buds return to bloom lush and more beautiful than ever.
