Do you remember those entire afternoons spent on Italia 1 with the Simpsons at lunchtime? Okay, unfortunately, I am not Martin McFly, and we cannot go back in time, but starting today, a new auditory/visual genre has been created for all the nostalgic ones that combines seapunk and the already famous vaporwave with old footage of the most famous family on TV.

Forget the last 10 seasons for a moment and pretend that after the millennium bug Matt Groening and the whole team had the urge to commit mass suicide (#jesuishomer) and let’s focus on the good old hand-drawn animation.

Done? Good. Now put on some headphones. Set up the '90s revival in the living room and search for ＳＩＭＰＳＯＮ ＷＡＶＥ on YouTube; you might shed a tear... (or maybe you won’t give a damn because at 40 you don’t have time to dress up like Vanilla Ice for an imaginary party...?)

The ＳＩＭＰＳＯＮ ＷＡＶＥ is no joke, it’s reality.

It all started from a looping video of a scene from the episode "Bart on the Road" (am I the only one who has seen practically all of them?) with "Resonance" by HOME in the background. All this has generated several viral videos in recent months, some really well made (this one is beautiful, take a look). In short, the mocking\feelsamanetta\aesthetic operation of the trippy Vaporwave, defined as the "internet's music movement," continues to create numerous subgenres and attract new followers; there could be a BillWave in the future, in honor of the greatest womanizer nigga of the '80s (if someone makes it, they will become my hero)!

Unfortunately, being an emerging genre, I can only offer a few songs by unknown artists around the web, but if supported, we can grow a new, wonderful parallel universe where time stands still and the plastic and consumeristic taste of prepackaged sandwiches captivates our taste buds...
