Öröm is a Hungarian music project formed in 1998 in Kazincbarcika. Initially a three-member band, it is now a solo project of Kalinka István who handles all musical parts. The 2006 album '8' is the first full-length after several demos and EPs. Music features acoustic and electric guitars (undistorted), keyboards, subtle bass and drums, flutes and violins; lyrics are in Hungarian and thematic focuses include melancholy, despair, nature, desire and solitude. The name Öröm translates as 'Joy'.
