LA RECENSIONE

The world of music is a branch of the universe of art and, as such, it remains indefinable, unexplored, and among all things, fascinating to us.

Jun Seba, known as Nujabes, is a renowned Japanese producer who passed away in 2010, considered in the Land of the Rising Sun as an unappreciated genius of modern music. Unappreciated genius? World music? A name so little known to us? But how, we are the continent of modern music: from us, Anglo-Saxon\Americanized, we go from the most thuggish\wannabe rapper who in his "very original" lyrics talks about money, easy girls, pimped-out cars, drugs, gangster wars, and yo yo motherfucket to the most punky daddy's son who assembles a band of pseudo-anarchic boys who want to dominate the under-16 sales charts.

And yet, from all this, there is always an alternative, which sometimes occurs through the exploration of new cultures. Starting from here, I claim that the yellow-faces are right, this Nujabes must be listened to.

In this album of his, there is everything that can synthesize the genius of the Tokyo producer: an attentive reinterpretation of Jazz with clear influences of Hip Pop and music clearly inspired by Japanese culture, a jewel to possess in practice.

Tracks like Lady Brown, F.I.L.O., Letter From Yokosuka, in my opinion, deserve to be listened to more (especially in instrumental form), but obviously they are not the only pearls. I will not be here to describe track by track the entire album, if you want to taste something new for your apparatus, this dish is for you.

Sorry for the brevity but considering the hour I would return to my balcony with my cigarette.
