2007 is the year of Italian rap, and I'm certainly not the only one saying it.
After the (grand) return of the Colle, the major release of major underground acts like Club Dogo, Turi, and Corveleno (with three excellent works, among others..) and some less successful albums (such as Generazione X); there are rumors once again of a return of Professor Kaos (even though the rumors have been going on since the time of the Crusades).
And so far so good, but all these great releases could overshadow excellent works released in a purely underground circuit. One of these is certainly Verano Zombie by the Roman rapper Noyz Narcos.
Noyz Narcos, member of the Roman crew Truceklan, is on his second official solo release, but he demonstrates the skill, style, and flow worthy of a veteran. And, in my opinion, he is one of the best new school artists in Italy (alongside the young Ted Bundy and the Neapolitans Co'Sang). The topics in "Verano Zombie" are particularly serious and committed, and Noyz tackles them with very visionary and metaphorical lyrics. The album includes many features, among which, in addition to almost all the members of the klan, are Danno from Colle der Fomento and Guè Pequeno, Marracash, and Aken from the Dogo Gang, a sign of the strong street credibility this MC enjoys.
From the intro, Noyz shows us his worth and takes us into his "inferno" on an excellent production by Rough and with scratches from his friend Gengis. Among the best tracks on Verano Zombie are surely the title track with a mediocre feat by Metal Carter, accompanied by a (bad) video; Parla Chiaro with a mega beat by Joe (my favorite), "Quelle Notti" (damn, what a beat!), Karasho ft Danno, Mentalità da Clan ft Marracash, and the concluding track "Senza Uscita".
A record that deserves it. Really.

"Verano Zombie is the projection in music and rhyme of a concrete, ancestral and indefinable malaise, painful and difficult to focus on."
"Noyz Narcos... douses the brain and limbs in the worst sewage water, stains the conscience with a self-harm without end."
