The NOX are a historic psychobilly band formed in 1993 in the province of Cagliari.

The core of the band consists of a classic trio formation (vocals/guitar, double bass, and drums) namely Furio M Nestor, Valter doc Fasol, and Benito Petra, with the recent addition of Ciscagno Delascuevas as the second guitar. They have several concerts at a national and European level under their belt, participation in three sector compilations recorded with some independent labels, an EP from 2003, leading up to the recording of this "Psycho Radio Boom Boom!!" in 2006 at the AUDIOSTUDIO label.

All the tracks, some of which come from the previous EP "Nox bastardos", are original, although it's not uncommon to see them cover some genre classics live.

It is noteworthy that they are finally one of the very few bands to sing in Italian. The CD consists of nine tracks. It starts with "Ratto re", which opens the album worthily with a guitar riff defined by the classic echo effect. The song lays itself out and unfolds on familiar schemes, well played and interpreted, with convincing vocals. The second track is one of my absolute favorites: "Oste". Characterized by an interesting structure, it contains the classic catchy chorus with a very amusing lyric that pays tribute to the many lovers of the "bacchanal cult." Then comes the pleasant "Ritmo", an instrumental track, with an arpeggiated intro and sudden accelerations. The fourth track is "Tipi da saloon", another instrumental episode with vague echoes and reminiscences, in a rockabilly style reminiscent of Morricone. As the title suggests, the theme of alcohol is very recurrent and indeed spills into the next "Il ballo del blocchetto", a song with an obviously cheerful and carefree rhythm that essentially describes the classic "the morning after" post-drunkenness ("accipicchia, ma che ora è?! Another instrumental piece is the sixth track "Testacoda", a brief concentration (2:44) of all that makes psychobilly a genre still followed and appreciated on a considerable scale: echoing rhythms, psychedelic solos, and episodic echoes and giggles in the background. It returns to vocals with "Buio e sangue nella strada", with a very rockabilly intro and subsequent rhythm that at times recalls "Blister in the Sun?” by Violent Femmes. Here too there is a very catchy chorus that quickly sticks in your head (ei tu lasciami stare, io so' so cosa fare). The penultimate episode is "Gilera 53", the fastest track, albeit slightly, on the album, evidently dedicated to the legendary motorcycle company. The album closes with another instrumental, "Rubacuori", a track featuring traces of piano, the final episode of a fun album that definitely deserves support.
