EPs are not for me, it is well known by now. And it could be even worse for a band that, in just one year, releases not one but two works: a 7” and now an EP precisely. But every now and then, here comes the exception, like in this case.

Yes, because this “This Is Who We Are” by the Romagnoli Now.Here is a good product, at least worthy of existence and a clear example of how these guys believe in what they do and want to grow quickly. To achieve this, they have turned to the musical genre they know best, namely pop-punk, but made less plain than expected thanks to many references to the Californian hardcore scene and the new-school that is so trendy nowadays.

The five proposed tracks have the right approach, lively to listen to and energetic enough as tradition dictates. Steady rhythms perfectly match the guideline set by the guitars, constantly upstroke despite the conventionality of some passages. To lend support, as often happens in these settings, is the singer, whose tone easily serves the cause, making most of the tracks here potential collegiate chart hits. Set Your Goals are without a doubt their point of reference, especially in the way they appear sunny and party style.

A good calling card for these Now.Here, already monitored by MTV despite only a year of activity and ready for a 2013 that will almost certainly mean a debut album. Keep it up.
