LA RECENSIONE

Among the “veterans” of the Italian metalcore scene, we definitely find Not Yet Fallen, a band from Padua active for about ten years with several self-productions to their credit. Today we find them with the “Homebound” EP, which for the first time involves a label – the thoroughly Italian Indelirium Records – and marks a clear artistic step forward for the project itself. The group seems to have adapted very well to the new clichés of the genre, navigating territories ranging from old school metalcore – read: breakdowns – to new school, with post-diversions that give breath to the tracks. As often happens, in their case, the vocal dualism is not missing, an element now indispensable within these musical contexts that at least succeeds in the intent of “breaking” the flow of the work itself. The songs are based on an introspective concept, touching on various points related to human emotions, between certainties, fears, and instability. A decidedly well-structured work on the lyrics. In conclusion, Not Yet Fallen consolidate themselves at medium-high levels in terms of metalcore, demonstrating skill in both heavy and softer compositions.
