Una Storia da Raccontare

What is a music album? Well... I don't know, it is a collection of many things, a collection of tracks, sounds, words, emotions, and a bit of presumption. Every genre of music is tied to a certain culture, every sound to a certain lived experience, journey, departure, to a certain history. All of this can be found in these 10 tracks enclosed in one title, perhaps too restrictive, perhaps too grand: "Una Storia da Raccontare".
An album that sings stories of the marginalized, the displaced, ordinary people, a clean, fresh, and innovative sound.

The title track discusses the death penalty, a fairly debated topic on what human justice (or injustice) can provoke, culminating in a simple yet concrete thought: "And tomorrow will be another day with one less in this world and a chair that will unleash anger and violence in just a second". Reflections, anger, but also the desire to continue as demonstrated by the second track, "Anni di frontiera". Amidst this spirit of indignation, the Nomadi also find time to indulge in the feelings of us all, which can be the departure of a friend, of someone we love, or simply our imagination, in "Ti lascio una parola (Goodbye)".
"Canto alla luna" could be defined as the sequel to "Io Vagabondo": we are all a little bit wanderers, like wolves that sing to the moon with just us and our guitar.

The second part of the album turns to the peoples, their cultures, and then we find a road full of sounds and images: the sea breeze of "Il Profumo del mare", our civilization made of sails, fishermen, lemons, and white houses on the ports of the "Mediterraneo". The journey continues in time, time and memories, this is "Tempo che se ne va", a poetic track and one, in my opinion, of the most beautiful of the album.

We move on: in "32° parallelo" we pass through destroyed villages, among the desperate and displaced in (what seems to be) an abnormal dimension, tanks, invaders, and invaded, the result: "Timeless peoples, Families without history".

But the Nomadi cannot close the album this way and want to leave hope to all those who have sung, "to the losers so that they win a match" saying a kind of goodnight to all the dreamers who still do not give up, "to those who walk the world ever forward like the sea in the last beautiful "Buonanotte ai sognatori".

We have exited this musical path, we have crossed all the emotions, we have treaded on every note of the album. We lay our head on the pillow which today, like every day, is a bit fuller than yesterday with the thought that tomorrow will be another day, with the hope that tomorrow the world will have changed.
