A live performance with a 79-piece symphony orchestra is extremely rare in Italy. As far as I know, only bands like Pink Floyd or Metallica have done it. Without wanting to compare ourselves to them, this is perhaps the most beautiful satisfaction we've ever had in our career. Realizing this dream was like crossing the most important finish line for us, the pinnacle of our history as a group. It cost us a lot of effort" - Beppe Carletti, the only remaining founder of the Nomadi.

This is not a live performance, this is a rock opera.

Ninety musicians put on a show by combining classical and rock into a single, unique, indivisible entity. Many of the biggest hits of the Emilian group perfectly rearranged with the Omnia Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Bruno Santori.

The live is available in three versions: 2CD, DVD, 2CD + DVD. Being a great admirer of the Nomadi, I chose the latter: not being able to watch the concert, the expressions, the lights was a bit disappointing, but being unable to listen to it elsewhere, unleashing my imagination to create images, was even more disappointing. The CD contains practically the entire concert setlist, recorded in Brescia on April 6 and 7, 2007, where new and old songs alternate, except for two songs only included in the DVD (three if you include the "Tedeum" finale). Some tracks are taken from the latest album "Con Me o Contro di Me".

Even though I never doubted the success of the concert, I was afraid that the Nomadi (as they often have) would only play the usual (beautiful) songs, neglecting others equally beautiful but unfortunately left in oblivion. Fortunately, I was wrong; besides the very famous "Io Vagabondo", "Canzone per un amica", "Auschwitz", one can find almost unknown songs like the ambiguous "Immagini", "Se non ho te", "Il Destino", songs that haven’t seen the light for many, many years. The album also features two studio unreleased tracks, this time played entirely by the group: "Ci vuole un senso" in pure nomadic style, released some time earlier on Italian radio as a single, and "La mia terra" on a theme concerning immigration but which actually touches on many other aspects.

Particular credit goes to the singer, Danilo Sacco. Even though I knew him well, I didn't expect him to reach such high levels, breathtaking interpretation, perfect voice. To better illustrate, I recommend listening to "Asia", "Trovare Dio", and "Auschwitz", all three splendidly arranged. Also noteworthy is Cico Falzone, a great protagonist. Hearing an electric guitar solo as it joins the orchestra's strings gives chills.

The only downside is the fact that the "Nomadi" audience was less heard, at least on the CD since it couldn't be seen. In various points, the music was too loud and drowned out the already unamplified voices of the spectators, and if in the DVD you could hear them shouting "Venga e ti prenda per mano..." on the CD this was more difficult. But, apart from this, the result is an excellent record, a worthy live after ten years from the last "Le strade, gli amici, il concerto..."
